As a leading intensive outpatient program, Family Recovery Specialists receives many enquiries from parents with concerns about their teenager or young adult, to the extent of considering intervention and therapeutic counseling. Now, the program invites those parents to an emotional support group to help to address concerns relating to alcohol or drug experimentation, cyber safety, breaking home rules or defiance, struggles in school or a decrease in overall motivation, poor choices in relation to peers and/or risky decision-making or poor judgment.
Parents with any or all of these concerns are invited to discuss them and receive practical advice from a team of experts who are experienced in helping out families struggling with these issues. The support group takes place in a highly intimate, relaxed and informative setting on the first Friday of every month, from 6:00pm to 7:30pm, at Family Recovery Specialists’ outpatient offices in Miami.
Having spent almost 20 years working alongside teens, young adults and families, the Family Recovery Specialists team is well-placed to coach parents on how they can intervene with their children and be more effective parents.
